Distribution Guidelines

Film Eligibility

  • Genre: Documentary (feature-length or short)

  • Completion: Must be complete or in advanced post-production

  • Running Time:

    • Shorts: Under 40 minutes

    • Features: 40 minutes or more

  • Originality: All submissions must be original works. You must own or control all rights (or have clearance) to music, footage, and third-party content.

Content Criteria

We prioritize documentaries that:

    • Tell stories about people affected by the criminal justice system

    • Offer fresh perspectives on the criminal justice system

    • Demonstrate a clear point of view and strong narrative arc

    • Are culturally, socially, or politically resonant

Film Eligibility

  • Resolution: Minimum 1080p (HD); 4K preferred
  • Format: ProRes, H.264, or uncompressed MOV

  • Audio: Stereo or 5.1 mix; fully mixed and leveled

  • Captions: English subtitles required if the film contains non-English dialogue; closed captions encouraged
